SCOUT Team

In the summer of 2023, Walk Off Charities created the WOC Scout Team, an 18U all minority team comprised of players from all across Jacksonville. The purpose of this team was to provide experiential and exposure opportunities for top minority players through participation in events like the Prospect Select Palm Beach Classic in West Palm Beach and the Perfect Game BCS National Championship in Ft. Myers.

 

Given the expense of the typical travel ball organization or team, Walk Off is committed to these players and families to help cover nearly all expenses including tournament fees, hotel costs, coaching stipends, uniform costs, equipment, and more. Practices were held twice a week to improve player skills and prepare them for events. An experiential trip at the end of the summer to Atlanta gave players the chance to tour a historic HBCU (Morehouse College), attend a Braves game, and meet some influential people in the baseball industry.

After adding an additional team is 2025, the WOC Scout Team program is looking to add a third team in 2026. This exciting development reflects the organization's commitment to fostering young talent and providing athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills in a competitive environment.
